Kinton farm is a 17th century farmhouse located in the hamlet of Kinton on the outskirts of the village of Leintwardine.
The project creates ancillary accommodation within an existing granary for an elderly relative. Repair and refurbishment of the existng stone building is combined with a simple timber insertion that subdivides the space. Ground floor has an open plan living room and kitchen with a crafted timber desk and bookcase alcove overlooking the yard. Upstairs are two bedrooms open to the roof pitch, with existing timberwork exposed.
The building uses a ground source heat pump to supply underfloor heating, with supplementary heating needs met by a wood burning stove.
